Lifestyle Credits Avoid Blame Game

"After announcing the program for the 2004 calendar year, we have seen immediate benefits. Our carrier discounted us heavily because we put in the financial incentives. Ninety-nine percent of eligible employees are participating in the program. Many of our employees have said that, as a result of the program, they have taken the initiative to seek medical advice and have joined weight control and/or exercise programs. Fewer donuts and more vegetables are shared in the break rooms. A “wellness” culture is beginning at our bank. This happened within a month and without our company investing in brochures, wellness meetings or building a gym.
